The Honorable Tim Kaine to Receive the 2009 Tower of Dulles
The Committee for Dulles is delighted to announce that the Honorable Tim Kaine will be presented with the "Tower of Dulles" at the Committee's 43rd Anniversary Gala on Friday, November 6. The Tower of Dulles is awarded for meritorious service providing for the betterment of Washington Dulles International Airport and the Dulles Economic Corridor. The award, presented at the Annual Gala, is the highest recognition offered by the Committee for Dulles.
"We are honored to have the Governor as this year's recipient of the Tower of Dulles," announced Committee for Dulles President, Tanya Matthews of TMG Construction Corporation. "During his tenure as governor of the Commonwealth, he has been a staunch supporter of Washington Dulles International Airport, recognizing its importance as Virginia's economic engine. Governor Kaine's tireless efforts to ensure federal funding for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project and the transfer of the Dulles Toll Road to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will ensure the full completion of Metrorail to Dulles Airport and on into Loudoun County. The construction of this facility which will link Dulles to the entire Metropolitan Washington Area, will be of inestimable benefit to the future economic success of the region surrounding Dulles Airport and the Commonwealth of Virginia."

The governor will provide keynote remarks at the black tie event which will be held at Lansdowne Resort. More than 500 corporate executives, elected officials, hospitality and airline management attend this prestigious event each year.
