Udvar-Hazy Center Presentation

Opened in 2003, the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center serves as a partner facility to the National Air and Space Museum. The two locations together attract more than 8.5 million visitors per year, making the National Air and Space Museum one of the most popular museums in the world.

For aviation enthusiasts young and old, the Udvar-Hazy Center is the place to visit. The expansive museum consists of two hangars—the Boeing Aviation Hangar and the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar—which have dozens of aircraft and spacecraft suspended from their ceilings. Some of the most notable include a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, an Air France Concorde and Space Shuttle Discovery.

Christopher U. Browne, Deputy Director, National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution, has graciously agreed to speak at our September Luncheon. Chris will talk briefly about the history of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, and its current exhibits and programming, touch on future plans for this amazing jewel in our backyards, and discuss upcoming changes to the Museum’s location in Washington, DC.
