Applying for a CFDCO Dulles Airport Scholarship
CFDCO wishes to present college and trade school scholarships in 2027 to graduating high school seniors. These scholarships include the Carol Welti Award, the Dave Edwards Award and the Distinguished Achievement Award.
The criteria
- Applicants must be employees or volunteers of a business or agency operating in the Washington Dulles airport community, or dependents of those employees or volunteers.
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in the Class of 2027.
- Applicants must enroll in an accredited community college, trade school, college, or university on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Applicants must demonstrate leadership and commitment to the community through extracurricular and volunteer activity.
- Applicants must submit a completed application form, essays, a recommendation letter, and a copy of their high school transcript.
- No financial disclosure is required; the scholarship is not based on need.
- Scholarship funds may be used for tuition and related expenses such as books.
- The scholarship must commence within 12 months of the award or it will be forfeited.
Selection
Selection of scholarship recipients is made by a committee of the sponsoring organization. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right not to award scholarships if suitable applications are not received. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
